India Art Fair, the leading platform to discover modern and contemporary art from South Asia, opens to the to the public. In partnership with BMW Group India, India Art Fair presents 81exhibitors from 20 Indian and international cities, within a tent façade designed by Indian artist Sameer Kulavoor. Celebrating the thriving modern-day art scene across the region, the fair will present an expanded curated programme that features modern masters, vernacular artistic traditions, performances and talks, running until Sunday 2 February 2020.
Jagdip Jagpal, Fair Director of India Art Fair, commented: “India Art Fair has grown extraordinarily in its last 12 years, building on gallery participation, public programming and creating a spotlight on South Asian and Indian art. In the last two years we have looked to strengthen the programme to highlight the artists, as well as make a visit to the fair accessible for all ages and abilities. Modern and contemporary South Asian art remains the focus of the fair, with 70% of the floor space dedicated to Indian galleries, and an esteemed line up of artists not seen in India presented by international galleries.
I look forward to welcoming all participants and visitors over the course of the fair days from January 30 to February 2, and hope, through the art that is seen to the public programme that is experienced, the 12th edition will represent the best of South Asian art.”
